Seniors and their families often face issues of aging that can be overwhelming.  We coordinate, monitor, manage, assess, plan, and anticipate short and long-term care needs. And a lot of our work is advocacy for seniors and their families.

Irene V. Jackson-Brown, Ph.D., CSA, CMC is both a certified care manager and a certified senior advisor. A care manager designs and may help to administer a care plan to obtain the appropriate level of support and care.  A care manager assesses, recommends, coaches, educates, and advocates with a goal of making the older person as independent as possible, live with as much dignity as is possible, and maintain a high level of safety.  A care manager also provides support and coaching to a senior's family, friend, or loved one.

As a senior advisor, Irene has supplemented her experience and education with certifications and gained knowledge about the key financial, health, legal, and social issues that seniors face.

Services are delivered through a comprehensive and diverse network of medical and non-medical professionals and service providers.  In this way, service can be tailored and appropriate to an individual's specific care need. (However, no commissions or "kick-backs" are permitted from referrals.) Each one of “our partners” must believe that perfecting care enhances life for both the older adult and the caregiver(s).

Our work in eldercare is as varied as our clients are. Here’s a sample of what we’ve done:

  • Assessed a senior’s care needs, identified resources, solved problems, and referred the senior and their loved ones to medical and non-medical service providers.

  • Stood in for the family when they couldn’t be there because of work or distance.

  • Showed a senior who wanted to stay in their own home, how to, safely.

  • Assisted a senior with paperwork, including bill payment and household management.

  • Identified a service provider who designed a special prosthesis for a paralyzed amputee.

  • Coordinated a couple’s relocation— including identifying a new living arrangement, managing the move, setting-up in the new home, and connecting them with local resources.

  • Resolved in-home accessibility challenges for a senior with limited mobility and low vision.

  • Resolved the conflict among a team of caregivers from different racial groups and nationalities.

  • Devised a cost-savings plan for paid caregivers.

"We appreciate the intelligent suggestions and useful resources that you recommended regarding a range of matters -- health and recuperation, caregiver protocols, care planning issues, relocation assistance and much more.  We are humbled by your enormous gifts and truly appreciate the services you provided."  The Rev. Dr. Wyatt Tee Walker Family

"Every caregiver needs a coach and a caregiver. Thanks for being both." Helen Dodson

"What a relief to know that I have someone who can back me up and be there for my parents when I can’t be. You give me peace of mind!" Sandra Epps
